Ignited Minds: Unleashing the Power within India

 Ignited Minds by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The book begins with a sad note and incident of Sir, when he was travelling through helicopter, and met an accident, fortunately no one was injured and all his colleagues were safe. He was administrated that night a tranquilizer , and recalls having seen a very vivid dream. He explains the dream that he was in a desert were five men, namely Emperor Ashoka, Mahatma Gandhiji, Albert Einstein, Abraham Lincoln and Caliph Omar, stood by him. He felt dwarfed by their presence and recounts the words of these great personalities.

   He in the first chapter writes about dreams and how one should focus on fulfilling his/her dreams to the fullest. A inspirational writings from him helps a lot and how he focused on his own dreams.

   He explains about incidents and moments with children of different schools and his interaction with them. His personality always inspired many children all over the country and abroad. He always had a impact on every child of the country, the children asked him various question about the discomforts of the country and all the things that are not expected from children. They were so interactive and made him proud and he explained them with great enthusiasm.

  He explains how the teachers at school and parents at home help a student and a child to succeed and learn. They are the child's role model, and that's where the chain of knowledge starts.

  Later he tells about scientist in India who brought revolution in the technology, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, J. R. D. Tata, Satish Dhawan and Dr. Verghese Kurien were the modern Indian visionary.
He tells how development had made India prosper in many fields also, the Indian development in the Rocket Technology was a great source.

 In the fourth chapter, he talks more about rituals and faith in god, which brings one to life and how it makes sense in one's life. He explains that we should learn from Saints and Seers and share their knowledge and gradually spread. He talks deeply about how such knowledge plays a important role in the society and in one's life.

  Later in next chapter he talks about politics and religion the major connection between them and how the politics effects the people of the nation and how the religion plays an important role in the discussion.

 The sixth chapter begins with a Thirukkural , which states: "Wisdom is the weapon to ward off destruction; It is an inner fortress which enemies cannot destroy". This chapter reminds about the India that was a great source of civilized knowledge and it has large roots in our civilization.

  Later in further chapters he writes some lines from Abraham Lincoln and Rabindranath Tagore writings and making a great environment of enlightenment. He explains the need to take risk in life and to be successful, one should be able to accept things and take risk to change them or bring change in them. A very inspirational lines by him.

  The book ends with, "Song of Youth":
It's a very beautiful poem and makes one to feel very unique and so special and motivate one to take act, a very action taking lines by him.
