Why are movies released on Fridays?...

Movies in western countries and in India are released on Friday. There must be thought that, people will watch  the movies with families as they will have holidays after Friday, Saturday and Sunday, to enjoy the movie and that will add to the movie collections.
In India the early movies didn't released on Friday till 1950's. The movie, Neel Kamal released on 24th March, 1947, which was a Monday. Mughal-E-Azam was among the first movies to be released on 5th August 1960, a Friday. So we ended up adopting the British/American legacy after all, in the late 1950s.

Also it is consider as the Friday is the day of Goddess Laxmi , and releasing movie on that will bring money to the movie owners, and they will be blessed with wealth.....
